The "Cobra Payload" for Ps3 CFW continues to evolve since its days of being CobraUSB and since going Open Source (thus dropping the need to buy an Official CobraUSB device) the community has evolved and improved dramatically over the last couple of years. Now the latest milestone in Cobra CFW is this new guide from Joonie that will guide your through the process of setting up the environment needed to compile COBRA 7+ payload in both [PSL1GHT/CELL SDK] environments. This guide will be very useful for developer's and advance users of the community and should not be confused with how to setup Cobra for use.. This great guide has evolved from many great minds and research from within the PS3 Homebrew Community. See the full tutorial in the link here or provided below:

This is W.I.P. meaning work-in-process, so this guide will continuously be updated hopefully one day I could write a full tutorial of how to port cobra for different fw versions.

The original guide

  • COBRA 7.00 - PSX-Scene **, the original article posted on Tortuga-Cove is not available due to their shutdown, which is why not shown in this post. **

Additional info:

The cobrausb dev wrote this really really well, and this is like a bible to me, I've read this about maybe more than 30 times, and still it gives me new info every time I read this. Maybe I'm just dumb.. lol

This guide is based on this sentence
Quote:

The source code of components is in SRC folder. The main components of Cobra expect the toolchain found at BSC page, with gcc 4.1.1. install all ppu* files for your architecture.
This was way too short for me at the beginning, so I'd assume some people may feel like how I felt, so that was one of those reason I decided to write this guide. :)

Hope this tutorial helps!

Many thanks to @evilsperm @haxxxen and @habib @_NzV_ for sharing awesome tips :)
