That PlayStation 4 has had another firmware update released. There is not much to say about this one as it brings the console enhancements to system performance. Lets hope that these rather bland updates to the console are gearing up to something a little more special. Perhaps, as we watch the PlayStation 4 scene grow, we will see more interesting releases for the console as we have for the PlayStation 3.

Quite some time ago there was that unexpected update to the PlayStation Portable that pretty much shocked many a avid PSP user. Who would have expected Sony to release a firmware update to the handheld some three years prior to its previous. Shortly thereafter qwikrazor87 released a modded version of this downgrader and now the developer, DaveeFTW, has released his official update bringing Infinity support.

Busy loop then system freeze , help !

My SPRX loads fine but I get this message (lv2(2): System Warning : busy loop detected) in prodg target manager and is spamming constantly like every 1 minute or less , and is a matter of time till my game freezes . I noticed my game freezes this way only on System software mode , in release mode works fine . Does anyone found a solution to this ? I saw some threads with same problem but they tried to fix by deleting and putting back the TMP folder in dev_hdd0 , but I already did this , all files have full permissions in TMP folder .

And here is a log of everything , including after game froze , please check it .

Psp memory stick help!

I recently bought a used psp 3000 model. It has been playing great and i ordered a pro duo memory stick adapter online and put two 8gb micro sd cards in it. First of all it only read one micro sd card but i really didn't worry too much about it because i get to play all the games i want. I just dropped my psp today by accident, not even a foot drop probably, but i was in the middle of playing a game and when i tried to save it said there wasn't a memory stick inserted. I quit the game and tried to re insert the card and even reset the psp nothing worked. Umd works fine but the memory stick is not recognized. Do i need another psp or maybe is it something to do with taking apart the psp?

So I thought the new patch allowed DVD ISO to work on DEX side? I mount them with webMAN but they never show up, am I wrong? I have gotten a Bluray I dumped with IRISMAN to work after FTP'ing to my PC then decrypting with AnyDVD HD and FTP'ing it back as I don't have a Bluray drive on my PC. Has anyone gotten the DVD's to work on D-REX?

In recent days we have seen a fabulous XMB modification by PS3 developer Mysis, since his release of XMB CFW Settings v0.1. A few other PlayStation 3 developers have provided some modded version. We showed you the other day littlebalup's mod as seen here, since that release aldostools has released a mod of littlebalups version, Aldostools adds some modifications in what the devs calls the "mod-mod" version. This version adds the settings in the Network tab with a folder called "Custom Firmware Tools" along with some of the features from mysis that were in the original version, Some of these features were disabled in littlebalup's version.. View screenshots included below of this version of Aldostools to see how differs from Mysis original version and also liitlebalup's mod

QCMA - v0.3.10 by codestation

The Open Source Alternate to Sony's Official Content Manager, QCMA has received an update by creator codestation. This update is regarded as a "maintenance-only release with very few features" aims to improve the project. The developer states that many new features will not be added to the project as time is an issue, however the developer is working on QCMA2 to bring proper Android Support . See full details of this QCMA in the information provided below

QCMA v0.3.10

Quote:

What is QCMA?
  • From Official Website: "Qcma is a cross-platform application to provide a Open Source implementation of the original Content Manager Assistant that comes with the PS Vita. Qcma is meant to be compatible with Linux, Windows and MAC OS X."

Features
  • The aim of this project is to provide an implementation that is on par with the official CMA and also offer some features missing in the original one.

Implemented features.
  • Metadata for PSP savedatas.
  • Basic metadata for single songs (album, artist, title, cover art).
  • Basic metadata for videos (duration, dimensions, thumbnail).
  • Basic metadata for photos (dimensions, thumbnails).
  • Simple backup browser: view and delete the backups on your PC without a Vita.
  • Easy wireless pairing (show PIN to the user when a Vita is detected).
  • Ability to restart the connection if the Vita is reconnected.

TODO:
  • Complete categories for music.
  • Persistent backend for database.

Planned features
  • Android version: port of Qcma to Android.

This is a maintenance-only release with very few features:

QCMA v0.3.10
  • + Sort game entries alphabetically on the Vita side.
  • + Fixed bug where users from some countries couldn't connect to qcma since the update xml provided wasn't valid for them.
  • + Changed dbus support for unix signals on qcma_cli (linux only)
  • + Added support for Ubuntu Wily, Fedora 23 and Debian Jessie.
  • - Removed support for Ubuntu utopic and vivid, Fedora 22 and Debian wheezy.

Warning: Some users (me included) reports that full backup restores fails sometimes on FW 3.51 (but works OK on 3.55). This seems a bug on the firmware itself since it happens too with the official Sony CMA. Not sure if this affects < 3.51. Individual game backup restores seems to work fine.

From now i won't be including new features and will be only be fixing some bugs on Qcma since i lack the time to deal with this project. Also i started the Qcma2 project some months ago so hopefully i can bring proper android support, multi account and remove the need for database reescans. There is no ETA for this one since i work on it on my free time.

Ermak86 4.76 NoBD Edition By Baxalo

Is your PS3 Console Damage? More specifically your BD Drive which prevents you from obviously using disc in the drive, but as some may be unaware a broken BD Drive / Logic Board can also prevent you from launching anything from the XMB as well. However, scene developer sometime ago have figured out ways around this Sony fail, by patching the BD. NoBD CFW will allow you to use that PS3 Console once again and gives those broken consoles another use besides a paper weight. NoBD is a perfect example of the good the Hacking Community brings to PlayStation User's. Without this firmware your console is broke and rather useless for most task until a replacement is made on the BD Drive / Logic Board. This release by Baxalo gives Ermak86's 4.76 CFW the ability to be used on NoBD consoles while also adding Cobra 7.10, while Cobra 7.20 is the latest version, noBD users should be happy about this release as NoBD CFWs do not have all the options a normal consoles does.

Help with installing games via backup/restore

I have followed atleast a few tutorials, used probably way too many tools, and spent about 13 days trying to figure this out. I’ve decided to ask for help because I really would love for this to happen. The game I am trying to get is Marvel vs Capcom 2. I have both the demo, and a standalone pkg file, I have an edat for the purchase code, I have both psid and idps, it has no c00 folder (though I heard taking the param.sfo into the folder will fix that), and have tried quite a few methods of getting all of these to match up just right so the game becomes unlocked. Those methods mainly include ps3xport and pexploit lite.

I’m just about to give up, so what I really want to know is if someone else here could actually do this for themselves, and then just tell me how they did it. I am still using OFW 4.76, and I was really trying to avoid using CFW. From what I can tell, this is definitely possible without CFW.

Alternatively, if someone just wants to gameshare it with me, let me know what game you want, and I’ll buy it just so I can gameshare with you for it.

(I will be following the same rules as the subreddit r/gameshare because security is very important, but I don’t have any comment karma, so I can’t post there. So if you would like to game share, please set up your security questions to recover your account in an emergency, delete your billing information so I can’t buy things on your account with your card, and please have a picture (just use imgur) of your download history proving you do in fact own Marvel vs Capcom 2. My psn account is Lucar17, use this link to check me out Lucar17's PSN Profile - PSNProfiles.com , and see that I am legit.)

TheFlow who is the PS Vita (PsTV) developer who is behind the Rejuvenate Homebrew App we know as VitaShell, has just released a gift to the PS Vita Community. As the dev on twitter releases: Vita Modules for 3.50 firmware and also PRXTool Mod. The legality of these files are in question, so we will not directly link you to download itself, but this should be good information for community developer's. The announcement by TheFlow can be seen in the details provided.

TheFloW's Vita Modules and PRXTool Mod

I decided to share the 3.50 vita modules and prxtool mod with you guys, so everybody can take a look at it!

This dump contains more modules than you could have dumped with vitasploit (it even contains the webkit module or an other interesting module SceCompatDialogPlugin) The important thing is that all these modules are NID UNPOISENED which means that prxtool will be able to resolve all the known NIDS.

I have also included my extended db.json file in this package. This file has been manually adjusted, so don't mind the order of the NIDS. This database has got some SceAppMgrUser API's resolved which are very cool for you guys:
sceAppMgrPspSaveDataRootMount, sceAppMgrConvertVs0UserDrivePath or sceAppMgrLaunchAppByUri.

This is how to translate the modules into ARM assembly files:
prxtool -r 0x81EFC470 -i -b -w -n db.json SceVideoExport_0x81EFC470_0.bin > videoexport.S

The -i indicates whether the module is thumb mode or ARM mode. Most of the prxtool's feature won't work so don't bother trying other arguments than these here.
Have fun reversing guys!

i followed all the instructions but it fails to do so everytime, i tried cfwing 2 years ago and i had the same error.

i also have a question regarding the installation. my ofw is rn 4.76 , do i have to downgrade or something or can i install a custom cfw that is 4.76

I have had few bans recently and have started to spoof to a banned CID and psid with ccapi once I think I'm in the game servers this has seemed successful to be keeping my new IDPS AND PSID safe.

Today I got signed out from psn whilst modding BF4 with a RTM Tool and I've changed everything MAC PSID IDPS but nothing works when I go to sign in I get a message say the connection to Sony entertainment has timed out

But if I supply the Internet from my iPhone's 4G broadband I can sign in to psn with the same IDPS PSID MAC

So slightly confused or is PS3 psn having problems there's nothing from what I can find

PS3 bricked and time to renew my E3 flasher knowledege

So I was in the middle of installing 4.21.2 CFW in order to use my CU3 dongle. Well my stupid cat was sitting in the window when the neighbor blew off a firecracker. She spazzed and when she did she hit the switch on my sure protector. So now I can't boot into safe mode as when it does it just beeps and then "No Video Signal" is all that is displayed. So I went looking and I found some 4.70 NORBIN dumps and 6 out of 8 MD5's match up just fine. So I am hoping my E3 clip is still usable as I haven't used it in a very long time and if not I can always buy a new one. So what is the best app to patch one of these to test out flashing? I do have an E3 dongle still and the system was QA flagged prior to all this. I was also able to use my eID_Root key to get the info I needed off of the HDD. I am out of data on my internet connection so video's will take forever at 2G speeds of a whopping 14 kb/s. I seem to have all the software needed and want to avoid formatting my HDD if possible which I don't see why not if I can get it to boot into safe mode again as I don't have a spare 2.5 HDD and don't want to have to FTP back over the data to a 1tb HDD.

Code:

File: e3_downgrade.bin
CRC-32: 9457c226
MD5: dcd1cddbc27459f70fac258384662c05

File: update.bin
CRC-32: aa1267d1
MD5: 8d1a10f45049b5dc1223d6008ed238dd

 File: Lv2diag.self (get into FSM)
CRC-32: 9338abf2
MD5: 099f33a7967f99e91c07e870fd78b3db

File: Lv2diag.self (get out of FSM)
CRC-32: 72740080
MD5: 7a20bfdae65eefb47a4425db1b52dcde

So what is the best software/version to patch this 4.70 dump with? I recall one of the guys making a new one that supposedly worked better for NAND instead of needing flowrebuilder but I have a NOR. And which would be easier flashing right to 4.70 or using the E3 to get into FSM and installing 3.55 first?

EDIT

PS3DumpChecker latest build will not run on my PC which is Win 8.1 x64, I am uploading my NORBIn dumped via Rebug Toolbox and was hoping someone could check and possibly patch it for me. @Joonie or @littlebalup @pinkfloydviste or @No0bZiLLa could you possibly help me please get this patched and checked? As I said I have 8 different dumps from 4.70 using Rebug Toolbox that work and @tthousand & @bitsbubba as soon as I have this sorted I have the time off and will grab the games with my PS3 for your PSTV's just please bear with me. I was going to start the downloads tonight as my download is only 17 kb/s till the 19th when my speeds go back to full speed and I will have your systems done right away then. I am sorry for the delay but unexpected circumstances have hindered me doing this during my vacation time.

If any of you can help I will send you the mediafire link via PM as I don't want my dump public to avoid someone possibly stealing my IDPS but it will take a little while before it is done.

Analysis of sys_dynlib_prepare_dlclose PS4 kernel heap overflow by Cturt & qwertyoruiop

PlayStation 4 hacker Cturt is back at it again along with qwertyoruiop as they deliver some new information for the PS4 Hacking Scene, as they publish "Analysis of sys_dynlib_prepare_dlclose PS4 kernel heap overflow" on Cturts github page. The exploit that is outlined in this writing was unfortunately patched "around firmware 2.00" so while its higher then some of the v1.76 exploits that have been talked about in the past by cturt, it still does help (at this time) user's who are on current firmware, but this research does give other hackers additional knowledge about the system and different ways it can be attacked. Cturt does not intend to release "any fully weaponised exploit source code" as he states, but the developer has shared lots of knowledge and is sharing hints and details about the path they have taken, to get this working exploit..

More knowledge and details released can only help in the effort to get a working public exploit for the PS4, as thanks to fail0verflow PS4 Linux progress we should have something very nice awaiting when that time arrives. Among the details below you can view a few snippets of this article in the form of the Introduction and also the Conclusion, so be sure to read the complete article, link can be found at bottom of the page (Source).
